Blog-20191103 Kincade Fire of October 23, 2019

On the night of October 22nd, I went to Windsor Town Green to take some night photos of the stringed pink lights over the fountain in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It was a very pleasant evening, and I was oblivious of what was to come.

The next day on October 23rd, the Town of Windsor and much of Sonoma County was threatened by the Kincade Fire which started by a spark northeast of Geyserville. Strong gusty winds quickly spread the fire to 77,758 acres, threaten over 90,000 structures, and caused widespread evacuations and power shutoff.

I was evacuated too and I didn't get a chance to work on the photos until now 11 days later. Perhaps the abstract images I created using ICM technique (intentional camera movement) foretold the disaster that was to come.
